How long does it take to fit a towbar?
It does not take very long to install towbars with most vehicles taking up to roughly two to three hours for a towbar fixture. Certain towbars may be more complex and would require more time to fit due to either added features on the vehicle or an unconventional design of the vehicle itself.
As is the case with most towbars in Melbourne, it is not possible to transfer a towbar to another vehicle. As experienced manufacturers, we highly recommend against transferring a towbar onto any other vehicle for the simple reason that towbars are vehicle specific. So, you need to choose a towbar type that is ideal for the vehicle you are towing.
The primary difference between light-duty towing and heavy-duty towing is the Type of hitch and is dependent on the manufacturer’s specifications. Some vehicles are rated to tow more than others.
When it comes to removable and fixed ball towbars the difference is quite simple. Removable ball towbars are specially designed to be removable when not in use through a release mechanism in between the hitch and the tongue. Fixed ball head towbars, on the other hand, are designed in such a way that they should not be removed once they are fitted to the vehicle and are often bolted to the Towbar.
There are a number of additional accessories when it comes to towbar supplies. They include the towbar itself, the coupling, additional safety shackles, the tow ball, the ball mount (which is also known as a tongue).
